Panasonic Eluga A4 launch: Smartphone bets on massive 5000mAh battery

The phone has a tough fight in hand against the likes of Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4 and Motorola’s G5 Plus.

Panasonic has unveiled another smartphone in the fiercely competitive midrange market. The Eluga A4 comes with a 5.2 inch HD curved display with a pixel resolution of 720x1280. Under the hood, it has a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.25Ghz, which is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

As far as imaging goes, the phone comes with a 13MP rear camera complete with an LED flash and a 5MP selfie shooter in the front. The phone runs a customised version of Android 7.0 Nougat and comes with Panasonic’s ARBO personal assistant.

Connectivity features include dual SIM, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB OTG support. However, the key highlight of the Eluga A4 is its huge non-removable battery rated at 5000mAh. The Eluga A4 shall be available only through offline channels at Panasonic authorized dealers and is priced at Rs 12,490. The phone will be available in three colors namely — Champagne Gold, Mocha Gold, and Marine Blue.
