Latest leak suggests that the Galaxy A90 won’t come with Galaxy A80’s best feature.

The other latest bit of information is that the SM-A908 will feature a FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display.

The Samsung Galaxy A90 has been in the news of late for all the right reasons. This handset is expected to come with some interesting features such as a Snapdragon 855 SoC and 5G connectivity. This in itself would make it one of the hottest handsets in the world especially because it will sit below the flagship price category thereby providing 5G capabilities to a whole new audience. While these are the main features and it’s almost certain to come true, the handset was expected to come with a sliding camera mechanism. However, if the recent reports are anything to go then this premium midrange smartphone will miss out on this camera trick.

As per a report by GSMArena, the Galaxy A90 will come in two flavours and they come with the codenames SM-A905 and SM-A908. One of these is expected to feature a ‘Pro’ branding while both will come with the Snapdragon 855 chipset making this the first A-Series handset to boast Qualcomm’s flagship processor.

In terms of camera specifications, the SM-A905 will feature a 48MP/12MP/5MP setup and come with an unexplained ‘Tilt OIS’ feature. The SM-A908 will in all probability come with 48MP/8MP.5MP cameras. A point to note is that these cameras won’t be mounted on a motorized periscope or have any swivel technology like the Galaxy A80. The handsets will feature a traditional camera setup on the rear.

The other latest bit of information is that the SM-A908 will feature a FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display. The SM-A905 on the other hand is expected to come with a QHD display to match its superior camera setup on the rear. The screens on both devices are said to be 6.7-inches.

The report ends by stating, “The odd part here is that all the leaks thus far claim that the SM-A908 will be the one getting 5G connectivity, while its sibling probably won't. So, could Samsung be trying to offset some of the steep 5G extra cost by cutting down on other hardware? A rather interesting concept to consider for sure.”
