Make ‘Mii’selves

The red-hat worn, jumpsuit clad Mario meant a lot for millennial kids. Those who had great fun times together with Mario know him better than any other kid of their times.

The red-hat worn, jumpsuit clad Mario meant a lot for millennial kids. Those who had great fun times together with Mario know him better than any other kid of their times. playing Mario sounded synonymous to their initial brush with video-gaming. Those jockey-sticks and game consoles may be time-worn and less appealing to the gadget fiddling post-millennials and Mario’s parents too have shifted gears for a Y to Z transition—better late than never. Nintendo, the video game house has come up with its ever first social media app, definitely to woo the kids and those grown-ups who have a child in their heart.

The social gaming app Miitomo is just out of the kitty. With the app, users can create Miis-the graphical, cartoon look-alikes of themselves and customise it with suitable hair-dos, outfits, accessories and many more. Mii can be nick-named, be modified with the way it speaks and assigned a personality.

For the time being, Mii’s arrival won’t bring big cheer for the Mario lovers all over the world as Miitomo is only available in Japan. Leaving a ray of hope, the company plans a universal expansion and the next market is expected to be in the US. Anyway, the company is going to be very much in the ‘game’ with a set of four smart phone apps to be launched in a 12 months period.
