WhatsApp continuously keeps hustling towards improving the user experience of its messenger app in order to retain and acquire new users. Just recently it revealed the feature 'Predicted Uploads' which loads your photos on the server even before you click on send. A great way to save time. Seems like the string of updates won't stop just yet as WhatsApp has developed a new update which allows a user to enable or disable media visibility in the gallery for individual contacts.

A similar update was earlier provided by WhatsApp with the Android 2.18.159 beta update but it was excluded in the latest version. Fortunately, Webetainfo has now mentioned in its latest report that the feature is set to return. The new Android 2.18.194 beta update incorporates the facility of altering media visibility but, it is now in an improvised format. The new version allows the user to control the visibility of media for individual contacts or specific groups.

The option of 'Media Visibility' will appear in the Group Info section for group chats and in View Contact section for individual contacts. After entering in this window, you will see Media Visibility option which a will ask you if you want to show the newly downloaded media from a specific chat in your phone's gallery.

This new addition will prevent your gallery from being flooded with pictures which you don't want to see or store. Although not confirmed, but similar new updates might be offered with the upcoming versions.
