Google had stated a few days back about the possibility of Google Assistant being available on the iPhone. Now Google has officially released the Assistant for iOS and is available for download on the iPhone starting today. Google has also revealed that the Assistant is now available on more than 100 million devices.

Google Assistant is now available on iPhones and in order to access the virtual AI from Google, iPhone users simply need to open up the Google App and press the voice button to speak with the Assistant.

The Assistant is now available on more than 100 million devices, including Android smartphones, Android Auto, Android TV, and Android Home. Google Assistant on iPhones has the same features which are seen on Android.

The Mountain View search giant has also stated that Assistant can be coupled with Google Lens and now allows users to search for various objects using the smartphone’s camera.

The company will use visual context to understand what the user is pointing at and provide suggestions or actions, while also carrying a conversation. Assistant will automatically set calendar entries or suggest various actions based on the environment.

Google recently released the Google Assistant SDK and third-party actions will soon be made available on the smartphone. Users will be able to place orders, make payments, get notifications and even create accounts with third-party businesses.

The tech giant's virtual AI assistant will also receive a much-needed feature that allows users to ask questions by typing. In noisy or crowded environments, users may be reluctant to launching voice commands to Google Assistant, and now they have the ability to type in their requests.
