Records 250,000 registrations; finale to be held in Bangalore.

Tencent Games announced that it had received 250,000 registrations for its PUBG MOBILE Campus Championship 2018 sponsored by OPPO F9 Pro – a first-of-its-kind mobile gaming tournament targeted specifically at college students across India. The championship follows the game’s massive success in the country, quickly becoming India's favourite mobile game.

The tournament, which features four players teaming up in ‘Squad’ mode and battling it out in the popular game map “Erangel”, received over 250,000 players registering from over 1,000 colleges and across more than 30 cities. Of these, the first 10,000 teams of four to have checked in, played in the online qualifiers. They have been battling it out every day, with live commentary streaming on PUBG MOBILE’s YouTube page. The online qualifiers featured a total of 600 matches in 4 knockout rounds over 12 days of qualifiers.

The top 20 teams will be invited to the finals which will be held at KTPO, Whitefield in Bangalore on 21st October to battle it out for the total prize pool of Rs 50,00,000. The grand finale will also feature contests, freebies and giveaways of OPPO F9 Pro phones. The finals on 21st October will also be streamed live on PUBG MOBILE’s YouTube and Facebook pages, while those in Bangalore can join in at the venue and watch the spectacle live by applying for passes on www.pubgmobile.in
