Google says the list is compile based on search terms that had a high spike in traffic in 2017 as compared to 2016.

Google has lately released its rankings for the top Google searches of the year for the world and for India. Google says “the list is compile based on search terms that had a high spike in traffic in 2017 as compared to 2016.”

 

In the consumer tech category, Apple’s latest iPhone 8 and iPhone X dominated the list in 2017, ahead of the Nintendo Switch, Samsung Galaxy S8, and Xbox One X in the top five globally.

The Cupertino based tech giant not only dominated in the consumer tech category, but its latest devices were also on top of the list in terms of global searches as a whole. Other technology-related search terms were 'How to buy Bitcoin.'

In India, 'How to link Aadhaar to Pan Card' was top of searches, followed by 'how to book Jio Phone.' Users also searched for what is bitcoin and what is ransomware. According to Google’s results for 2017, Bitcoin was number two in the global news search.
