Make time to chillax in the evenings, Google takes care of the rest. What Google has come up for its US customers is really fantastic — a local event add-on on the app and mobile site. With Google search results come an ‘events’ box wherein the queries can be fed. Going by its tweet, the tech behemoth mostly has an answer to any inquiry from “yoga to live music to art” in the vicinity.

Event details drawn from websites like Eventbrite and Meetup show up in the Google search and the user can zero in on the one that suits him/her. The at-a-glance info comprises event name, date, time and location. There is an option to search for an event taking place for a future date, say tomorrow or next week.

The more refined the search, the more are the chances to spot an exciting happening in the place you wanted to be. As The Verge explains, “searching for things like ‘art events this weekend’ will now show a simple, organised list of nearby matches. Google also allows for more specific searches, so you’ll be able to search for things like “jazz concerts in Austin next week” and get similarly filtered results.
