The instant messaging giant has rolled out a new version on the Google Play Beta Program and Dark mode is the biggest takeaway.
After YouTube, Gmail and a host of other services, WhatsApp is the latest app that appears to be getting set to roll-out a dedicated dark mode. In its newly submitted beta version for Android 2.19.327, the instant messaging giant has submitted a new update on the Google Play Beta Program for its impending release of the ‘Dark Theme’ feature.
As the name suggests, the ‘Dark Theme’ is exactly what it suggests and it will include features such as a default dark wallpaper. As of now, it isn’t available to users, however, WAPBetainfo states that the theme uses night blue colours and there will be a system-wide default option that will automatically set the theme.
With the new update, there is also a Dark Splash Screen that has been built for the Dark Theme which indicates that the screen also has been redesigned.
