The Internet has been ripe with rumours and leaks about the next offering from OnePlus — the OnePlus 5T. According to teasers, the smartphone is slated to ditch its fat bezels and adopt a leaner front fascia. And now, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has hinted at the OnePlus5T’s launch on American soil very soon.

OnePlus has posted the latest picture on their Twitter account, showing the OnePlus advertisement on a giant billboard on Broadway Street in New York City. “Guess which city we're going to party in for the #OnePlus5T launch!” the caption read. There’s no other way to put it but OnePlus is eyeing some considerable attention in the American market.

Earlier in the week, another report revealed a GFXBench sighting of the OnePlus 5T. The listing shows the smartphone with an 18:9 6-inch display along with Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage options. It is expected to retain the OnePlus 5’s 16MP+20MP rear camera with certain software tweaks to improve imaging. However, the front camera will get a bump to 20MP. The smartphone will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, which is expected to upgrade to Android Oreo pretty soon after its launch.

Pete Lau also hinted on Weibo the price of the handset in China. The 5T is expected to be priced under CNY 4,000 (approximately Rs 39,000), which will be slightly more than the existing OnePlus 5’s prices. However, a near-Rs40,000 price mark pushed the OnePlus 5T from the flagship killer category to the flagship category and it remains to be seen if the company approves of a more accommodative price tag for the Indian market.
