25 million set top boxes to get Alexa’s voice control

MyBox Technologies, a Hero Electronix venture, specializing in the research & development and manufacturing of set-top boxes, announced it is now an Alexa Voice Service (AVS) solution provider. Collaborating with Amazon, MyBox is one of the first systems integrators to build an AVS solution for the video platform. MyBox’s solution allows set-top box manufacturers to bring the power of Alexa to their devices, providing customers with the simplicity of voice control and access to more than 15,000 Alexa skills.

The MyBox solution enables cable and DTH operators to bring Alexa to compatible, pre-existing set-top boxes. Paired with MyBox’s hub and microphone-equipped remote control, customers will have access to Alexa and the ability to control smart home devices, play music, shop for household goods, and more – hands-free.

MyBox has a history of designing and manufacturing set top boxes and has reached more than 25 million people through major Cable and DTH operators across India and South East Asia. MyBox is working on designing and developing a host of new features and products for TVs in collaboration with DTH and Cable operators, and TV manufacturers. MyBox has optimized full stack solutions to enable Alexa experiences for set top boxes that are already being used by customers, and these solutions will only further enhance products in the future. MyBox also provides customizable middleware (MyConnect) with a host of features and services for the entire pay-TV value chain.
