Sony India has launched its first Dolby Vision capable UBP-X700 ultra HD Blu-ray Player. This Ultra HD Blu-ray player is claimed to produce myriad colours, greater dynamism and sense of realism as compared to standard HD players.

The player offers 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray playbacks that are said to produce everything in finer detail for a more real-life picture. The UBP-X700 supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision. An HDR10 signal contains up to 100x brightness of a standard (SDR) signal, massively increasing peak brightness while retaining deep and highly-detailed blacks upscaling the visual experience.

The player supports a broad range of video and music formats, including MP4, DSD, FLAC, and others. To help with easy streaming, the player comes with an intuitive menu, interface, apps and features. The UBP-X700 also brings access to 4K streaming services.

Additionally, the 60P i.e. 60 fps recording makes sure you get smooth details, rich videos with better clarity even in high motion videos. Consumers who have 4K-SDR TV can also view 4K HDR content with high picture quality. HDR-SDR conversion technology intelligently scales HDR’s ultra-wide brightness range into an SDR image, maintaining picture quality even with conventional SDR TVs.

The company says, "Dolby Atmos is an HDR solution that creates an engaging cinematic atmosphere at home. It helps to bring scenes to life with striking highlights, deeper darks, and vibrant colours. This feature delivers breath-taking realism with sounds that move around in three-dimensional space. A new sensation of height immerses one in the action, creating a full audio atmosphere and realistically depicting objects moving overhead."

Furthermore, DTS-X can create an unlimited number of audio objects which adapt to your speakers in real time. Sony claims that with DTS-X support in UBP-X700, one can get the best sound output from your speakers.

The player also supports the new BT.2020 colour, which provides access to a wider range of colours than what conventional TV signals offer. This ultra-wide colour space means content creators can deliver much more saturated and realistic colour from deep aquatic blues to natural greens and vibrant reds.

The UBP-X700 retails at a price of Rs 27,990 and is already available for purchase.
