Lenovo has taken off the wraps of its budget smartband in India – Lenovo Smart Band HW01. The band has been priced at Rs 1,999 and is exclusively available on Flipkart.

Lenovo’s Smart Band HW01 features a dynamic heart-rate sensor and a pedometer to monitor various aspects of your health like burnt calories, sleep patterns and number of steps of walked. All that information is shown on a 0.91-inch (128 x 32 Pixels) OLED touch display with a scratch-resistant glass.

The band is claimed to utilise a dynamic heart rate monitor that can monitor heart rate data every 15 minutes on it own when put in the “Sport” mode. When your heart rate reaches the designated threshold, it will notify you of that through a vibration.

The band also has an active sleep monitoring feature that can alert you through vibrations if you have fallen asleep outside your designated sleep time. “This mode alerts you of concentration loss or dozing while driving or working at night,” states Lenovo.

It can also notify you of your smartphone notifications from various apps like calls, messages, Facebook, WhatsApp and more. The notifications are provided on the display of the band through notifications. It also shows time as default on the screen.

The smartband provides you with a silicone strap that is skin-friendly and is comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. The smartband has an IP65 certification, meaning that you can take a bath with it or use it in heavy rains as well.

The smartband is compatible with Android and iOS ecosystem. It can log data to popular fitness apps like Google Fit and Apple HealthKit.

The Lenovo Smart Band HW01is a direct competition to the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 that provides a battery backup of around 30 days. Lenovo claims that the HW01 can last for 5 days only with its bigger 85mAh battery, thus marking a major drawback in comparison to the Mi Band 2.
