Huawei launches GT2 smartwatch in India, starting at Rs 14,990

Huawei Consumer Business group has today launched the Huawei Watch GT 2 smartwatch in the Indian markets in two variants- 42mm and 46mm diameter. The prices for the two would be Rs 14,990 for the 42mm and between Rs 15,990 and Rs 21,990 for the 46mm (various styles considered). There are also some offers which we have elaborated upon at the end.

Huawei has revealed that the model would wield the company’s latest Kirin A1 chipset, along with having upto 2 weeks of battery life with both the heart rate monitor and call notification functions. The battery’s exact details haven’t been shared yet. Furthermore it has claimed that the GT2 will support Bluetooth callings and in-device music and capacity to store upto 2GB of different sorts of data on it.

The body meanwhile will come in colours Black Stainless Steel, Stainless Steel, Titanium Grey Stainless Steel with the latter exclusively for the 46 mm only wherein the 42 mm has Rose Gold Stainless steel colour, exclusively.

Poised to be a ‘Health and Fitness Manager for everyday wellbeing’ the watch is said to be compatible with 15 sports including eight outdoor sports and seven indoor sports. In terms of heart rate monitoring, the user will be notified if heart rate is above 100bpm or below 50bpm for more than 10 minutes, says Huawei which says its tech is backed TruSeen 3.5 heart rate monitoring. This can also work while swimming. The watch is also powered with sleep monitoring function.

Huawei Watch GT2 will be available both online and at retail outlets across major cities of India to cater the massive demand of offline customers.

While availability details of the GT2 42mm variant aren’t disclosed yet, the 46mm variant will be available across e-commerce websites Flipkart, Amazon, and retail stores including Croma. The 46 mm is specifically, priced at Rs 15,990 for the 46mm Sport (Black), Rs 17,990 for the leather strap model, and Rs 21,990 with the metal strap.

Customers can book the watch 12 a.m. onwards, between December 12th and 18th, 2019 and they will get a Huawei Freelace worth Rs 6999 free, promises Huawei. They are required to make the full payment for the watch at the time of booking the watch.

Meanwhile the first sale for the watch will start from 12 AM (Midnight) on the 19th until the 31st of December. The customers will get a chance here to get the Huawei Minispeaker (Rs 2,999) for free. They can also avail the option of No-Cost EMI.
