India draw 2-2 with Great Britain in Azlan Shah Cup

In the last encounter between these two teams, India had defeated Great Britain 2-1 in the Champions Trophy in London last year.

Ipoh: India and Great Britain drew their rain-delayed opening match at the 26th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament in Ipoh, Malaysia, two all on Saturday.

Akashdeep Singh and Mandeep Singh scored field goals for India in the 19th and 48th minutes of the match, only to see the Britons strike back with equalizers in the 25th and 52nd minutes of the match through Tom Carson and Alan Forsyth respectively.

In the last encounter between these two teams, India had defeated Great Britain 2-1 in the Champions Trophy in London last year.

In other matches today, New Zealand will take on Australia, while Malaysia will meet Japan. Australia are the defending champions, while India had finished runners up last year.
