Former South African international and Manchester United player Quinton Fortune held a Manchester United Soccer School training program for the students of Shiv Nadar School Noida, Faridabad and Gurugram. The football legend shared motivational stories and life lessons from his successful career as a professional football player to the students in Gurugram on Saturday.

“I moved to Europe from South Africa at a young age to play for the professional clubs there, and since I have experienced the challenges at the highest level, I always look forward to mentoring the next generation footballers,” Fortune said.

“It was a great session today at Shiv Nadar School and I was impressed with the children’s motivation and knowledge of the game.

“The young Indian footballers are talented and have the potential to create a mark in the international football arena with the right coaching and guidance,” the legens added.

A total of 64 students, in the age group of 10 to 14 years, participated in the MUSS training session in two batches and got a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience how it feels to train like a Manchester United player.

The day-long session was conducted by Neil Scott and Damian Sweeney — coaches from the Manchester United Soccer Schools programme. The session focused on a variety of different technical areas, such as dribbling, short passing, turning and finishing, with the aim of providing young players with the tools and confidence to improve their own game.
