It felt so good to meet my team-mates from my first season, taking me on a nice nostalgia trip.

Having been part of UTT previously, I can say without focusing on a particular team that there are only strong and capable players in fray this season.

It feels great to be back in New Delhi for the third season of Ultimate Table Tennis. The people here are friendly and I also love Indian cuisine. I am so looking forward to our season-opener against U Mumba TT.

Playing in UTT has been one of the best experiences for me. All competitors, Indian and international, stay together at one place for several weeks, which helps us get to know each other much better and fosters team spirit.

My team, Chennai Lions, is in with a chance to do really well. We are, probably, the most experienced team with Sharath Kamal leading our side. I believe I am in good form, as is Madhurika Patkar, another experienced hand. I expect every match to be keenly fought and we’ll need to give our very best to win. It’s something that not just the players but the spectators too will enjoy.

It is always good to have lots of matches involving high-class competitors because it enhances the players’ approach and makes the tournament even more exciting.

Indian table tennis has seen impressive growth over the last two years and UTT has played a big part, positively impacting the careers of Indian players. Every sport needs passionate supporters; without them, the game loses its charm.

This season will be played in a shorter and crisper format, which makes it more interesting for spectators. Chennai Lions has a strategy, which I obviously cannot disclose, to combat opponents and try to stay on top. (BVK Sports and Media)
