GKP ‘B’, Wellington YMCA enter semi-finals

Ghatkopar Kreeda Pratisthan ‘B’ and Wellington YMCA registered impressive wins to enter the mini boys semi-finals, in the NBA basketball tournament, at the Bachoo Khan Municipal playground, Nagpada on Sunday.

GKP ‘B’ beat Ghatkopar YMCA 43-31, while Wellington YMCA endured a stiff challenge from a determined Borivali YMCA before cruising to a 37-25 win in a fast-paced contest where Borivali refused to be discouraged while remaining in the deficit right through the match.

GKP’s junior boys snatched an exciting 39-32 win over Andheri YMCA after leading 17-12 at half-time. GKP swelled their tally to 30-20 in the third quarter before facing a strong comeback from Andheri in the final quarter.

St. Anthony’s proved too good for Agradneya Vyayam Shala (AVS) following a 69-37 win in a women’s match, while NBA beat Chembur YMCA 58-39 in a men’s tie.
