Ankit scores brace in Challengers win

Challengers FC scored a late winner to snatch a close 2-1 win against Vibrants FC in a hard-fought and well contested Group-A league match of the third Borivali Premier Football League (BPFL) at the St. Francis D’Assisi High School ground. Striker Ankit Pal scored both goals for Challengers, while Avesh Shaikh scored for Vibrants.

Challengers FC went on the offensive from the outset and enjoyed more of ball possession. They showed their dominance and took an early lead when Pal fired home the first goal in the very eighth minute.

Vibrants fought back gamely and tried their best find the net, but they could not find the equalizer in the first half. However, after switching ends, Vibrants managed to cancel out Challengers advantage when Shaikh hit the target in the 51st minute.

But, Vibrants were unlucky to concede a goal at the death and ended up on the losing side. Striker Pal once again showed good opportunism to score the winner in the first minute of additional period to seal Challengers victory.
