Abranches, Hegde fashion Maryland’s second win
The experienced Collin Abranches and Ashirwad Hegde scored a goal each to fashion Maryland’s second successive win in the competition.
Maryland United produced another fine performance as they tamed Ruthless SC 2-0 in a Group-A league match of the third Borivali Premier Football League (BPFL) at the St. Francis D’Assisi High School ground, Borivali.
The experienced Collin Abranches and Ashirwad Hegde scored a goal each to fashion Maryland’s second successive win in the competition.
Meanwhile, in a Group-B encounter, Challengers FC dished out a solid combined performance to comfortably overcome Kajupada FC 4-1 for their first win. They had played out a goalless draw with ND2 Soccer Stars in the opening group match.
Abhishek Gupta scored the opener before Ajay Ghansham doubled the lead for Challengers. Mayur Shirke netted the third and Kurban Shaikh made it four. Kajupada managed to reduce the deficit through Aniket Khedar.
