Mumbai: Mumbai City FC goalkeeper Kunal Sawant and striker Pranjal Bhumij inaugurated the ‘Walk to Beat Diabetics’ walkathon hosted by Nanavati hospital on the occasion of ‘World Diabetes Day’. Speaking on the occasion, Kunal Sawant said, “It is a good awareness for the people who don’t know much about diabetes. So it’s helpful that the Nanavati Hospital is having a very good thing with the Lions club. People should be aware and should look after their health and do exercise. That is something that people ignore.”

Kunal also talked about the ongoing Indian Super League and Mumbai City FC’s not so good start to the season. He said, “It’s normal. We did it last year too. We lost a couple of games at the start of the season and then we were on a nine-game winning streak. So we have to cope up with it. We have also started our training a few days back. We will come back stronger.”

Pranjal Bhumij, the future star of Indian football, talked about his journey in the footballing world. He said, “My journey was very hard. Earlier I had no idea about any of this. I am from Assam and in Assam, there are no special facilities like the ones I received when I got to DSK and now in Mumbai City. Now everything is good ever since I came in the professional league. Earlier the situation was very bad. I didn’t even know what used to happen in professional football. There are still a lot more things that I’ll get to learn.”
