Football Leaders struck in the first half to inflict a 1-0 defeat on Bodyline SC at the Karnataka Sporting Association ground, Cross Maidan.

Last year’s champions Football Leaders Academy (FLA) once again booked their place in the finals of the MDFA Women’s football league. In a semi-final encounter, Football Leaders struck in the first half to inflict a 1-0 defeat on Bodyline SC at the Karnataka Sporting Association ground, Cross Maidan.

Prolific and consistent goal-scorer Delfiya Pereira once again played the key role for Football Leaders by netting the all-important winner midway through the first session.

Meanwhile, Football School of India overcame FC Mumbaikar 5-4 via the penalty shootout tie-breaker after their semi-final match ended in a goalless stalemate. In the penalty shootout duel, Ankita Shinde, Karishma Vazirani, Pranali Shetty, Jyoti Mehra and Mamta Acharya successfully scored for Football School, while FC Mumbaikar converted only four kicks through Puja Das, Sujata Kar, Saraswati Kharati and Anshita Pant.

Results: Women’s League (semi-finals): Football Leaders Academy 1 (Delfiya Pereira) beat Bodyline SC 0.

Football School of India (Ankita Shinde, Karishma Vazirani, Pranali Shetty, Jyoti Mehra, Mamta Acharya) beat FC Mumbaikar 4 (Puja Das, Sujata Kar, Saraswati Kharati, Anshita Pant) via the tie-breaker. Full-time: 0-0.
