Thakur College in line for double crown

Thakur College of Science and Commerce, Kandivali put themselves on course for a double crown in the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament after registering an easy 4-0 victory over Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science, New Panvel 4-0 in the college boys semi-final.

Thakur had made it to the senior boys final earlier on Tuesday by edging out Kishinchand Chellaram College, Churchgate 6-5 via tie-breaker.

Thakur's final opponents will be Rizvi College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Bandra who battled hard to overcome Kishinchand Chellaram College, Churchgate 4-2 after both teams were locked goalless at regulation time.

Don Bosco High School, Matunga and St Francis D’Assisi High School and Junior College, Borivali set up a title clash in the junior boys’ category by recording identical 2-0 victories over their respective opponents.

The finals will be played at Reliance Corporate Park, Ghansoli on Friday.
