BENGALURU: Karun Nair looked on course for another first-class century as day two of the Duleep Trophy ended with India Red at 140 for two in 45 overs at KSCA Stadium here at Alur on Friday. Karun remained unbeaten on 77, while Red still trail Green by 300 runs.

Dharmendrasinh Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers for India Green. He took two wickets.

After bowling six overs from fast bowlers Ishan Porel and Ankit Rajput, Red skipper Faiz Fazal introduced left-arm spinner Jadeja as early as in the sixth over, but openers Priyank Panchal and Abhimanyu Easwaran negated the threat well. Easwaran went off the field due to gluteal strain in the ninth over. Karun who had scored 99 and 166 not out in the previous game against India Blue continued his impressive form. Panchal  was sent back to the pavilion after scoring a 77 ball-31.

Brief scores: India Green 440 in 131.1 overs (Akshath Reddy 146, Siddesh Lad 64, Akshay Wakhare 5/103, Avesh Khan 2/35) vs India Red 140 for two in 45 overs (Karun Nair 77 (batting), Priyank Panchal 31, DA Jadeja 2/36).
