Ireland pacers Tim Murtagh and Mark Adair ran through England’s batting to make the host skittle for a paltry first innings score of 85. Vaughan, who has been fearless in expressing his opinions, labelled England’s batting as “embarrassing" as the team got bundled out for 85. The former England captain criticized England batsmen for their poor shot selection and bad batting show.

"When the ball does anything you shut your eyes and hope England get through it." "There were some good balls but there was also some timid play and poor strokes," Vaughan said to Test Match Special.

Meanwhile, Ireland who was playing its third Test match got out for 207 during the first innings, and the team got a first innings lead of 122. This was the fourth time since 2016, that England has lost 10 wickets in a single session. The last time England lost 10 wickets in a single session was during 1938.

The Joe Root-led team will next take on Australia in a bid to reclaim the Ashes.
