Port of Spain: Team India re-wrote history on Sunday as they become the side who scored  most number of 300 plus scores in One-day Internationals, the record which was previously held by Australia. India achieved the feat after being put in to bat at the Queen’s Park Oval in a rain-curtailed encounter, now have 96 300 plus scores in ODIs.

India reached their maiden 300-run against Pakistan in Sharjah in 1996. The other teams who posted 300+ scores in ODIs as follows: Australia 95, South Africa 77, Pakistan 68, Sri Lanka 62, England 57 and New Zealand 51.

The match witnessed century from Ajinkya Rahane who scored 103 runs of 104 balls. Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli also scored breezy half centuries to help India post 300 + score.

Dhawan scored  63 runs from 59 balls, while Kohli smashed 87 runs off 66 deliveries with four boundaries and an equal number of sixes.  In response, the hosts never really got off to great start with Shai Hope the only batsman, who showed promise while at the crease, Even he was dismissed for 81 and from then onwards there was no chance and they eventually finished on 205/6. The score was a little too much for the hosts who lost by 105 runs.
