Mumbai:  Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has been under the crosshairs for anything going wrong with the Pakistan team. Apart from the team’s performance at the ongoing 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, Ahmed has also been a target for fat-shaming on social media in multiple viral videos and got slammed for yawning during the India vs Pakistan game.

Ahead of a do-or-die match for Pakistan against South Africa on June 23, the skipper finally decided to speak and lashed out at all the issues.

After keeping his cool for a long time, Sarfaraz slammed the likes of Shoaib Akhtar and Waqar Younis. “Unke nazar mein toh hum player hi nahi hai. Sab Khuda ban ke TV pe baithe hai,” he said.

Sarfaraz also pointed out his situation pointing out that if he were to say anything, it would become a new issue, and if he didn’t say anything, people would keep on talking about him. Ahmed was upset about the criticism and abuses against him finding their way to his family, who would ask him questions.

The captain had been body shamed two days ago by a man, who said in his video “Bada naam Pakistan ka roshan kiya aapne”. The man, who called him fat while Sarfaraz was out with his kid, later took to social media to apologise for his actions.

“If this happened to everyone, people would understand how much it hurts,” said Ahmed, adding that people may criticise but they shouldn’t abuse people.

Pakistan face South Africa on June 23, the first of their last four matches, all of which the team needs to win to qualify for the semi finals.
