Amid the rumours, Dhoni himself hasn’t announced anything regarding his retirement yet.

Mumbai: After India’s ouster from the 2019 World Cup semis following the defeat against New Zealand by 18-runs, rumours regarding MS Dhoni’s retirement started circulating. Amid the rumours, Dhoni himself hasn’t announced anything regarding his retirement yet.

The rumours got so much widely spread that even the media started talking about him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Recently, Dhoni’s manager provided a huge hint, signalling that Dhoni might consider joining the Indian Army after his retirement and that he wants to be an active member of the forces.

Besides being a great wicket-keeper, MSD is also a Lieutenant Colonel of the Indian Territorial Army. However, his passion and love for the India Army became a huge controversy after he was spotted donning wicket-keeper gloves containing an Army logo.

The former Indian skipper got into a major controversy since the ICC doesn’t allow any players to place a religious or patriarchal or army logo on the sporting equipments except the sponsors.

Dhoni was spotted keeping with the 'Balidaan Badge' Army insignia gloves during India’s World Cup opening game against South Africa. It has been said that Dhoni went through a brief training with the Indian Para Special Forces who owns the regimental dagger.

While Dhoni was training in Agra, Dhoni is seemed to have done five parachute jumps. Everybody’s aware of MSD’s love for the Army, because he always expresses his wish to join the Army.

Earlier, the Indian team sported army caps during the ODI series against Australia to pay tribute to the CRPF men who their lives during the Pulwama terror attack.  

Dhoni played a crucial role in bringing India closer to New Zealand’s first innings total of 239, however Martin Guptill ran him out after he hit a bulls eye to hit the stumps.
