Mumbai: India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja becomes the first Indian number 8 to score a World Cup fifty. The last highest by a batsman of the same order was 28 runs by Nayan Mongia vs Zimbabwe in 1999.

Ravindra Jadeja was involved in a spat with former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar who had accused Jadeja of being a cricketer in ‘bits and pieces’, to which the player had replied ferociously, asking Manjrekar to stop with his ‘verbal diarrhoea’.

All of India’s hopes lie on Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni, who are taking care of the chase after India’s top order failed to perform and Sharma, Kohli, and Rahul were all dismissed for a single run each.
