Rajkot: Bangladesh openers Liton Das (29) and Mohammad Naim (36) gave a strong start to Bangladesh as they manage to post a total of 153 against India. Star Batsman Soumya Sarkar also had a decent t outing as he scored 30 runs.
Liton Das was twice fortunate to escape punishment, once due to a Rishabh Pant error and other time he was dropped by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. The Indian bowlers misfired during the first half of the innings as the Bangladeshi batsmen capitalised on their bowling errors. But soon they took things under their control.
At one point, it looked as if the Bangladeshi would cross 200, but the Indian duo Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar did well to reel them into a low total. Bangla captain Mamudullah Riyad provided some resilience with his 21-ball 30 runs, but no one stood by him.
First Innings score:
BAN -153/6; Mohammad Naim 36, Soumya Sarkar 30, Mahumudullah Riyad 30.
IND - Yuzendra Chahal 28/2, Washington Sundar 25/1, Deepak Chahar 25/1
India need 154 to win and level the three-match series 1-1.
