Mumbai: Parthiv Patel will don the wicketkeeping gloves in the Mumbai Test against England as Wriddhiman Saha is still not to fit to play, the Indian cricket board announced it on Tuesday.

The Bengal wicketkeeper was ruled out of the Mohali Test after he strained his left thigh during India’s 246-run win over England in the Visakhapatnam Test. Parthiv was then drafted into the side for the third Test. The Gujarat skipper, who was playing his first Test after 8 years, hardly put a foot wrong during India’s win in Mohali.

“Parthiv Patel will continue to be part of the Indian Test team for the 4th Test of the five-match Paytm Test Series to be held in Mumbai from December 8, 2016,” said BCCI in its media release.

“The BCCI medical team has confirmed that wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha is still recuperating from the strain in his left thigh, which he sustained during the second Test match at Vizag,” added BCCI.

“As a precautionary measure, Saha has been advised rest. The BCCI medical team is monitoring the wicketkeeper-batsman’s progress,” said the Indian cricket board.
