PM Narendra Modi sends his wishes to Team India for World Cup 2019

After losing their first warm-up match against New Zealand, India bounced back on the scene after defeating Bangladesh by 95 runs

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent his wishes to Indian Cricket Team ahead of their clash against South Africa. The Men in Blue will be looking to initiate their World Cup 2019 campaign with a win over Proteas.

After losing their first warm-up match against New Zealand, India bounced back on the scene after defeating Bangladesh by 95 runs. Kohli is expected to play a vital role in team India's march towards the trophy.

PM Modi shared his wishes through his official Twitter account. He tweeted, "As #TeamIndia begins it’s #CWC19 journey today, best wishes to the entire Team."

He further added, "May this tournament witness good cricket and celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship."

Indian skipper Virat Kohli had also congratulated PM Modi for coming back to power.

Congratulations @narendramodiji. We believe India is going to reach greater heights with your vision. Jai hind,” Virat had written.

PM Modi had responded thanking the 30-year-old. He had also wished him for his World Cup endeavour.

Virat Kohli was not the only one who had interacted with the PM after his victory. Indian team's opener Shikhar Dhawan and head coach Ravi Shastri had also congratulated PM Modi.
