We are well past half of 2017, which means the world of technology is looking forward to welcome the second round of flagship smartphones from some of the well-known manufacturers. This year is seeing a trend of full-screen displays with minimal bezels on the flagship smartphone fraternity. Apart from that, there’s a host of revolutionary technology like advanced facial recognition systems, DSLR-rivalling cameras and under-display fingerprint sensors, expected to find place in some of the smartphones that we have discussed here.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 The successor to last year’s superb yet disastrous Galaxy Note 7 has been confirmed for launch in the later half of August. According to multiple leaks, the Note 8 will carry forward the S8’s Infinity Display in a slightly square-ish form along with an improved S Pen. Also, the Note 8 is expected to debut with a dual-rear camera, which is a first for Samsung smartphones. Of course, interested people will like the Note 8 to go through Samsung’s stringent safety checks so as to be remembered only as a great smartphone in the history. Expect prices to start at around $800.

LG V30 LG made a solid comeback with the G6 after last year’s forgettable G5 and the V30 is looking to be another phone to continue LG’s winning streak. Leaks are pointing to a smartphone that is basically a big brother of LG G6, in a similar way to the relation between Samsung’s Note series and the S series. The phone could be built on the Snapdragon 835 chipset and sport a bigger OLED FullVision display than the G6. The smartphone should be featuring an improved dual camera setup and a bigger battery for a longer endurance.

LG made a solid comeback with the G6 after last year’s forgettable G5 and the V30 is looking to be another phone to continue LG’s winning streak. Leaks are pointing to a smartphone that is basically a big brother of LG G6, in a similar way to the relation between Samsung’s Note series and the S series. The phone could be built on the Snapdragon 835 chipset and sport a bigger OLED FullVision display than the G6. The smartphone should be featuring an improved dual camera setup and a bigger battery for a longer endurance.

Nokia 8 After a decent second innings in the world of smartphones, HMD Global-backed Nokia is aiming high to set the bar high in terms of quality smartphone experience. Their upcoming flagship — the Nokia 8 — will feature the Snapdragon 835 chipset along with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. What marks this one aside is the return of the Carl Zeiss name to smartphone camera optics with a new dual camera setup. Leaks have suggested a Nokia 8 that looks more akin to the OnePlus 5 than to the Galaxy S8, which means that this should beat the others in terms of build quality.
