Akshay, who was holidaying with his wife Twinkle Khanna, had arrived in the city only a day before and fans gathered at the venue to catch a glimpse of him.
Akshay and Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookuttty unveiled the poster of ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ at the event and later also launched the trailer.
Not just by attending the event, Akshay expressed support to the makers by talking to the media and the audiences about the film as well.
‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ traces the story of founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak, and faced a tough time earlier, getting banned due to opposition from the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for the portrayal of the saint in 2015.
It will now release on April 13 after they got the approval from the SGPC, as mentioned in the trailer. Resul has designed the sound for the film.
Akshay, who was last seen in 'Pad Man', happily posed for selfies with some of the audiences and members of the team.
Akshay is currently shooting for ‘Kesari’, where he plays one of the soldiers from the historic Battle of Saragarhi.
