Akshay literally on top as country turns Gold, ex-India openers lend support

Akshay wrote on Twitter, after sharing this picture, “#PuneTurnsGold The cosmopolitan Magarpatta City turns Gold on this iconic day marking 70 years of India's first Gold . #IndiaTurnsGold”
Posting this photograph, he wrote, “#AhmedabadTurnsGold A view to behold as the Sabarmati Riverfront turns Gold, do go have a look to believe it. #IndiaTurnsGold.”
Continuing the golden turn across the country, he wrote, “#JaipurTurnsGold The Pink City has a beautiful GOLDEN hue today as the Statue Circle turns Gold. #IndiaTurnsGold.”
Akshay plays a Bengali in the film and for Kolkata, he shared this picture and captioned, “#KolkataTurnsGold Watch the Prinsep Ghat turn Gold today to unite for our first Gold medal victory. @t2telegraph #IndiaTurnsGold.”
“#KanpurTurnsGold Here is the beautiful view of the JK Temple turning Gold today with support from @JagranNews #IndiaTurnsGold,” Akshay’s caption for this picture.
And for his home city, he had this to say, “#MumbaiTurnsGold Celebrate the 70th anniversary of our first Gold medal victory at the iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus today. Thank you @Central_Railway for commemorating this important occasion in India's sporting history #IndiaTurnsGold.”
At CSMT, his co-stars from the film, Amit Sadh, Sunny Kaushal and Vineet Kumar Singh, added more gold.
The trio play hockey players who win gold for the country, first after Independence. The film’s cast is completed by Kunal Kapoor, who was absent.
A screening of the film was held in Delhi, where one of the producers, Ritesh Sidhwani, director Reema Kagti, Akshay and co-star Mouni Roy were spotted.
‘Khiladi Kumar’ was literally on top before the premiere, and used a ladder without ropes or other assistance.
The superstar climbed all the way to the top to pose with a poster of the film featuring him hanging at a multiplex.
Akshay plays the character of a manager who motivates players to win gold for the country in the film.
The lead pair looked classy together as they posed for the cameras on the red carpet. 'Gold' releases on August 15.
Even cricketers were invited for the premiere, including former Indian captain, Virender Sehwag, who was seen with wife and kids. On Twitter, Viru wrote, "Thank you @akshaykumar for the special screening. I am totally #SoldForGold. Wonderful performances and a really inspiring movie. May it do well and inspire many."
