TVS Motor on Tuesday said 10 women riders had been shortlisted to participate in the Himalayan Highs Season 2. The riders will accompany Anam Hashim, the lone rider in the inaugural season, on India’s highest motorable road — Khardung-La.
The 10 are Megha Chakraborty (Bilaspur), Kainoor Mistry (Mumbai), Roshni Somkuwar (Nagpur), Garima Kapoor (Lucknow), Ebronah Dorothy (Chennai), Pallavi Fajdor (Delhi), Antara Pal (Bengaluru), Trupti Sharmalkar (Mumbai), Surabhi Tiwari (Bengaluru) and Shruti Naidu (Bengaluru).
The selection process for Season 2 began in June. It saw about 50,000 enquires and over 2,000 entries across the country. Contestants were evaluated and shortlisted on psychographics, physical fitness, mental strength and above all riding prowess.
Excited about the journey, Anam said, “With a new season of Himalayan Highs, TVS Motor is making a strong statement on empowering women by giving them an opportunity to go live their dream.
“This time I will have 10 riders for company and that should make this a fun ride despite the challenging terrain.”
The ride will set out on August 11 from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
