Ricky Donison will represent India at the Rotax Grand finals in Portugal later after winning the JK Tyre national Rotax max championship.
Donison has been racing for just three years and has established himself as a champion driver. He started his professional racing career in 2013 with the JK Tyre national championship and was awarded the newcomer of the year in the junior max category. In 2014 he won the national championship against fierce competition .
In 2015 Donison moved on to the senior max category which is the most competitive category in Rotax and won the last two rounds at the Asia Cup and finished fourth overall, the first Indian to break into the top five in Asia.
On the way his feat this year he he became the first racer to capture five pole positions in as many rounds of the national championship. He also won the maximum wins award by winning four out of five championship rounds.
