By branding himself as “49 per cent woman,” Ryan Gosling couldn’t be more feminist. The 35-year-old actor, who grew up with women and whose “home life is now mostly women,” said that he is very much in touch with his feminine side, news.com.au reported.

Asked what percentage woman he was, he told ES Magazine “I’d say 49 per cent, sometimes 47 per cent, it depends on what day you catch me.”

The Drive star, who is father to 18-month-old Esmeralda and newborn daughter Amada with actress Eva Mendes, also praised women as the stronger sex, confessing that he thinks they are better than men. “I’ve always liked women more. I was brought up by my mother and older sister. I found my way into dance class. My home life now is mostly women. They are better than us. They make me better,” he said.

“You can tell especially when you have daughters and you see their early stages, they are just leaps and bounds beyond boys immediately,” Gosling added, explaining that “women are better than men” because “they are stronger; more evolved.”

“It’s our time as men to be on the receiving end of the stick. I grew up with women so I’ve always been aware of it.”
