The infamous Playboy mansion, owned by Hugh Hefner, will reportedly be put up for sale within February.
The six-acre Holmby Hills estate in Los Angeles was built in 1927 and has been the location of some of the wildest Playboy parties ever thrown, reported Fox news.
The mansion will apparently be listed for sale within the next month, and Playboy Enterprises — the estate’s owner — is looking to get around $200 million for the property.
Real estate sources said that the Playboy mansion will probably sell for around $80-$90 million, but the building will most likely be torn down as the value is in the six acres of land the mansion stands on.
Whoever buys it will be required to give Hugh Hefner a life estate, meaning he can continue to live in the mansion until he dies, TMZ reported.
The six-acre estate was built in 1927 and became famous during the 1970s through media reports of Hefner’s lavish parties.
It’s owned by Playboy Enterprises, Inc, and is also used for corporate events. The house is 21,987-square-feet and designed in the Gothic-Tudor style.
In early 2011, it was valued at $54 million. Prospective buyers can view the property once it goes up for sale, but editors report that Hugh Hefner’s bedroom is strictly off limits during the house tour.
