An anonymous donor donated £37,000 to help a woman with cerebral palsy walk again.

The 20-year-old Jade Owen is learning to take her first steps after the mystery donor paid for the US operation to treat her.

Owen underwent a selective dorsal rhizotomy aimed at reducing spasticity - plus two other operations for her disability.

Owen needed to raise a total of £60,000 for the surgery - and the unknown donor gave the huge sum to make her dreams come true.

Jade, in a wheelchair since she was 11, is now able walk with assistance.

Speaking about it, her mum said that while fundraising had been very challenging, someone anonymous saw Jade’s post and wanted to privately donate.

Owen, of Bridgend, South Wales, said, “I feel amazing. I’m in shock," adding, "I wish I could meet the person who donated. I’m just so grateful.”

Jade now plans to get involved with musical theatre and has also been accepted to do modelling.
