Mumbai: When it comes to breaking the glass ceiling, the fashion world has been a step ahead with acid attack survivors, rape survivors and also the hijab making an appearance on the ramp in the past year and a transgender photo shoot also created a buzz.

After Pakistan’s first trans-model Kami Sid shattered prejudice in society by posing for a stunning photo shoot, Nepal’s first transgender model, Anjali Lama is all set to set the ramp on fire at the Lakme India Fashion week in Mumbai this February.

Anjali was born a boy named Nabin Wali in Nuwakot and moved to Kathmandu in 2010 after which she underwent surgery. She has also been in focus in a documentary called “Anjali-Living Inside Someone Else’s Skin”.

As her feat comes as another push for LGBTQ rights in the region, she considers respect and opportunities for transgender people a scorching topic across the globe, and has been very vocal about it.

She wishes to inspire people to shed their inhibitions and fight back against prejudice for realising their dreams.
