It has been two days since the Borivali GRP woman constable Sunita Kondalkar and her husband Kiran Kondalkar have been in police custody but officials have not been able to draw any conclusion on her claims of being kidnapping.
Commenting on the matter, a senior official commenting said, “It seems like she created the whole drama and faked her kidnapping.” Now, the Dahisar police is planning to take the constable to Pune to verify her claims. The primary investigation on the case stated that she was kidnapped by two miscreants, at gun point, under the jurisdiction of Kasturba Marg police station.
The police had successfully traced the kidnapped or missing Ms Kondalkar and her husband Kiran Kondalkar from Pune and brought them into the city early on Saturday. According to a police official from Dahisar, the constable has not provided any satisfactory answer to the police to indicate that she was indeed kidnapped. As the police officials have found several contradictions in Ms Kondalkar’s statements, they are planning to refer the case to Borivali GRP for further investigation. But, a senior railway officer on condition of anonymity informed The Asian Age, that a senior level inquiry has been ordered and if officials find her claims fake they can file a defamation case against her.
According to sources, officials believe that Ms Kondalkar has faked her kidnapping just to trap the constable Pravin Sonawane with whom she was not on good terms. The constable had on earlier occasions, made several allegations against many people, which later turned out to be fake.
As a few days ago after Ms Kondalkar went missing, Borivali GRP SPI Suhas Patil received a message from her husband mobile number mentioning , “I am Kidnapping Sunita and her Husband Kiran on the order of one Pravin Sonawane”.
