A typist working in a PWD office in Vasai area has lodged a police complaint of assault and harassment against three of her colleagues, including a woman.

A typist working in a PWD office in Vasai area has lodged a police complaint of assault and harassment against three of her colleagues, including a woman.

Confirming the complaint, an official from Manikpur police station of Vasai area said, “FIR was registered on Thursday and now we are verifying the facts, soon arrest will be made and we will produce the accused in court”.

According to police officials, the 33-year-old complainant has been working in the office for around one year and in her statement, she told the police the trio had often been passing lewd, abusive comments on her. When The Asian Age approached the complainant, she alleged that office clerk Y. G. Pawar and C. K. Patil, along with typist staff Vidhya Joshi, had harassed her. “I joined this office near the Vartak College in Navghar area, almost 13 months ago and for the past eight months, they were insulting and harassing me. I told our senior three times about the matter but no action was taken,” she said. Married with two children, the complainant also alleged she was threatened by the trio many times.

The complainant also alleged that the police had made her wait till midnight at the police station to file a complaint over the issue.
