‘Will file defamation case against Jadhav’
Revenue minister Eknath Khadse said that Dr R.K.

Revenue minister Eknath Khadse said that Dr R.K. Jadhav, who had accused the leader’s alleged personal assistant (PA) Gajanan Patil of demanding a Rs 30-crore bribe over a land allotment matter, was a habitual complainant who has filed complaints against several officials including a judge of a court who has given an order against his application. Mr Khadse further said that he would file a defamation case against Dr Jadhav. Patil was recently arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Mr Khadse said that the value of the two pieces of land in question were merely Rs 5.53 crore and Rs 77.40 lakh and the state government had denied them to Dr Jadhav in accordance with a Supreme Court verdict, so there was no question of demanding a bribe of Rs 30 crore.
“This man has a tendency to level corruption charges, and there is written proof of this. First, he had alleged corruption by the gram panchayat, and then gram sevaks. In Mantralaya, he has in the past levelled corruption charges against the former revenue secretary, urban development secretary, transport commissioner, MMRDA officials and RTO officials,” Mr Khadse told reporters.
“When he was denied the first piece of land, he asked for an adjoining plot the value of which was Rs 77.40 lakh. The government never confirmed to him that he could be allotted the plot but he still gave a cheque of the said amount to then principal secretary Swadheen Kshatriya. We had returned his money to him, stating that that the plot could not be allotted to him,” he said.
“He cannot be allowed to get away. If he can show proof that this corruption deal involves me, I have no right to remain on this chair. If he cannot prove his charges, he has to face the consequences, he said.
Claiming that Patil was innocent, the BJP leader said, “Patil is from my district and helps admit patients in Mumbai hospitals. If he was involved in land dealing, he would have asked me about Jadhav’s proposal.”
