The reality of the viral video clip of a woman being kidnapped has turned out to be the opposite of what was told to the police. Earlier, Malad residents handed over the video clip to police, saying that it contained visuals of a woman being kidnapped from S.V. Road, Malad, in broad daylight. Acting upon the information received from residents, cops traced the owner of the SUV vehicle with the help of RTO.

That’s when officials came to know that it was not an incident of kidnapping; rather, the woman knew the owner of the vehicle and the two were having an argument which is why she later walked away from the vehicle which was mistaken by someone as live kidnapping and shot as video on June 22 at around 6pm on S.V. Road.

A police official told The Asian Age that no FIR had been registered in the case as there was no specific complaint received by the police. Cops further said the picture quality of the video was bad and the happening wasn’t clearly visible but the number plate of the SUV appeared properly on the screen which led the cops to the owner of the vehicle .

The video, accessible to this newspaper, shows a SUV parked behind a restaurant and screams coming from it. Suddenly, a door opens and it looks like a woman is trying to come out from the SUV escaping a scuffle.
