A video clip of three men mercilessly beating a half-naked 22-year-old man has gone viral.
According to the Vasind police, the youth in the video is Akshay Dubole, an absconding accused, who allegedly molested a 17-year-old relative while the three assailants are her brothers.
The officers of the Vasind police station said, on October 12, Dubole allegedly molested the girl, after which her family approached the police. The police then registered a case against Dubole.
Senior police inspector Anil Pawar informed The Asian Age that Dubole has been on the run since the case was registered against him.
When asked if the police would register a case against the three men for assaulting Dubole, Mr Pawar said, “We have not received any complaint from him or his family so as of now no case have been registered.”
According to the police, Dubole used to follow the teen from Shahpur to Vasind in Thane rural frequently, as she used to take this route to travel between her home and college.
He had on several occasions allegedly grabbed the girl’s hand, told her to marry him and threatened her. On October 12, when the girl was in Vasind, Dubole allegedly grabbed her hand.
Police officers suspect the video was either shot on Friday or on Saturday.
