A video of a two men being stripped and beaten with a belt at a local railway station for allegedly stealing cellphones has gone viral on social media.

Although the source of the video is yet to be ascertained, Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Police Force (RPF) have said that they have not received any complaint about it.
The video starts inside a local train with the men already stripped and then being dragged on to the platform and being beaten up for stealing phones. The only clue that the incident occurred on a station in Mumbai is a fast local towards CST being announced while the duo is being thrashed.
GRP spokesperson Ritesh Ahir said, “We are not aware of any such incident because no one has registered a complaint yet and we cannot take any action unless that has been done.”
CR RPF senior divisional security commissioner, Sachin Bhalode echoed those comments.
“Although the case will go the GRP we haven’t received any complaint from the men in the video or even someone who has witnessed it,” Mr Bhalode said. “Therefore, we cannot do anything unless someone approaches us,” he added.
The video seems to have been taken late at night as there are few people on the platform where the incident occurred.
