The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two persons after a police inspector filed a complaint against them. API Sanap of Goregaon police station informed the ACB that the duo tried to offer him a bribe of Rs 50,000 to completely dispose a case against them. A trap was laid and both accused – Mudassor and Gutka distributor, Lukman Khatri, were arrested.

ACB sources said that on March 4, a case was registered at Goregaon police station under Sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence), 273 (sale of noxious food or drink), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC along with sections of the Food and Drug Security Act, 2006. The investigation officer of the case was Mr Sanap.

On March 15 at around 2pm, Mr Sanap lodged a complaint with ACB against mediators Mr Mudassor and Mr Khatri as they were ready to pay him Rs 50,000 for complete disposal of the case. Officials laid a trap for the duo on S.V. Road near Widas Motor Sales, and at 9.30am on Wednesday, they were caught red-handed.
