The Nehru Nagar police has arrested a transgender person for allegedly raping a 17-year-old minor boy, who is deaf and mute.
Police officials produced the arrested accused, identified as Muskan (33), in the Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday after conducting a test on the accused and the victim.
Muskan has been remanded in police custody for three days. Two associates of the accused are wanted in the case and the police has started search for them.
Speaking about the case, a police officer said, “Muskan and two associates reside at the slum of Vatsalatai Naik Nagar in Kurla (east). The 17-year-old victim, who lost his speech and hearing since childhood, is the neighbour of the accused. The boy used to play games and eat food with the accused at Muskan’s house and his parents were accustomed to their activities.”
Since the past few days the complainant’s father found his son’s behaviour strange. In his complaint, he said that he had started keeping to himself and was constantly depressed.
On Saturday, the boy’s father caught him crying after he came back from Muskan’s house. Smelling alcohol, the boy’s father approached him and asked him what was wrong. Gesturing, the boy explained that Muskan and his two associates had offered him drinks and when he refused, they forced him to drink up and sexually assaulted him.
