Three journalists have been arrested for allegedly posing as a police officer to extort money from a rationing officer in Shivaji Nagar, Govandi.

Three journalists have been arrested for allegedly posing as a police officer to extort money from a rationing officer in Shivaji Nagar, Govandi. After they refused to show their identity card, residents complained to the Shivaji Nagar police officials and handed over three of the accused to the cops.

Four persons entered the rationing shop at Shivaji Nagar and started investigating the grains in the shop.

They also blamed the shopkeeper, saying he was selling adulterated grains and oil and therefore they would take action against him. They then asked him for Rs 50,000 to solve the issue. After the police reached the spot, the four of them tried to escape. Although three have been arrested by the police and taken into custody, one managed to escape. After investigation, the police came to know that they were journalists.
